When King Conrad III defeated the Duke of Welf (in the year 1140) and placed Weinsberg under siege, the wives of the besieged castle negotiated a surrender which granted them the right to leave with whatever they could carry on their shoulders. The king allowed them that much. Leaving everything else aside, each woman took her own husband on her shoulders and carried him out. When the king’s people saw what was happening, many of them said that that was not what had been meant and wanted to put a stop to it. But the king laughed and accepted the women’s clever trick. “A king” he said, “should always stand by his word.”
When will people stop confusing “There was no language yet to describe this human experience of gender/sexuality before a fairly recent point in history.” with “This experience of gender/sexuality is a new thing that did not exist at all until very recently.”
gen z culture is having actual panic attacks, mental breakdowns, anxiety attacks ect. and older people just telling you “oh honey you don’t know what REAL stress is :))))))” “you’re just a kid, it’ll pass :))))))))))))))”
Exactly like BITCH NO IM FUCKIN STRESSED DAMNIT
IT FUCKING DOESN’T PASS!! I’M 19 AND IT STILL HASN’T “PASSED” BUT IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE
when i told my school psychiatrist that i was depressed she basically laughed it off.
Fucking piece of shit
And like she’s normally an okay person, but I don’t really trust her anymore
Good.
It is scary when some people fucking around on tumblr care more about a person who is depressed than a professional
Mhm.
You wanna know why they think you can’t really be stressed? because they think you don’t know what’s really going on out there. Because they didn’t, when they were kids. Forget the fact that with social media you now know EXACTLY what’s going on, probably better than they ever have. And frankly? There’s some scary shit going on right now.
When I was in college, I had a lit professor whom I absolutely adored (still do). He basically said, “I know everyone glorifies being young, but I wouldn’t be your age for anything. I’m out of here in another twenty years tops. You guys might be here another fifty or sixty, and that’s really scary. I’m glad I’m not you.”
This was during the Bush administration. Things are literally so much worse now.
Damn right you kids are scared, and you’ve got every right to be. And honestly, fuck anyone who tells you you don’t know what real stress is.
Me, watching an interaction between a male and female character: Wow, look at that wholesome, platonic relationship! I love their friendship, and it’s perfect the way it-
