Alright, so Niantic/the devs of Pokémon Go are now promoting and supporting Autism Speaks, an organization literally hated by the vast majority of autistic people and allies, that are pretty well known to be pro autism eugenics bullshit, basically the PETA of autism

I am very disappointed by this and others are as well as we are tweeting them to tell them to reconsider their support.

If you need another reason to dislike Niantic at the moment, here it is. :/ Please tell them, for the love of god https://twitter.com/NianticLabs/status/1054569879980924933?s=19

And if you need a link explaining why, you can use mine (that I wrote).

Updating this with a couple more links.

Thank you to all the autistic folks putting in the emotional labour to take Niantic to task on this. Let’s keep pushing! Make them see the error of their ways!

Thanks for reblogging, and for everyone else who has, too. We’ve had a few folks in the wider disability community reblog and retweet, too, so that’s comforting.

Someone has also made a email template to send to Niantic here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F9wX3Y3N5LRNG2UNlZ5_ubrAmXYsAe8lLe-bntvkLIs/mobilebasic

This is especially disgusting considering the creator of pokemon (satoshi tajiri) is autistic.

Halloween is almost over. You know what that means!

‘Grimalkin’ is an old word for a domestic cat, especially an elderly female one. It was used often during the 15th-18th centuries, when women tried as witches were accused of having cats as their familiars. Even Shakespeare used it in Macbeth, when one of the three witches refers to her familiar, who takes the form of a cat, as ‘Graymalkin’. Source Source 2 Source 3
