Cats can’t have kits in StarClan
Starclan is already pretty confusing but having kits in starclan would make that a whole mess more confusing
For starters, the cats in starclan are dead…. are they gonna give birth to dead cats? Thinking about it, I think having kits born in starclan would be neat if they were like, given physical bodies to live their life in the clans and when they die they can be with their parents again
But thats still really confusing imho, they would either have to magically appear and somehow not die until one of the clan cats found them, and even then it wouldnt be guaranteed that they would be accepted into any clans, some leaders can be pretty cruel. There’s also the issue of who would take care of them? This could lead into my other theory of how that would work which is placing them in the bodies of existing kits or kits about to be born. But that seems kind of cruel too because they wouldn’t actually be the kits of whichever cat is birthing them, and what happens to the kits that were supposed to be born? The whole thing with cinderpelt and cinderheart was kind of glossed over imho so the idea of reincarnation in warriors is still kinda iffy
For my last thought, how would the kits just existing in starclan work? I think a couple having kits in starclan since they couldn’t have them when they were alive is a sweet thought but, they would only exist in starclan. With the way death works in starclan, the cat wouls have to be killed twice to be fully gone, or the old way of second death which is just being forgotten by all living cats. So since these star kits aren’t going to be killed for any reason i can see unless the dark forest somehow invades and kills them, but i dont see that happening. Since these star kits only exist in starclan… who’s going to remember or forget them? How will they fade away? Will they be remembered by other cats in starclan or new cats that come to starclan? That’s not something the erins would want to jump into as a book plot i dont think. But its kind of interesting to me now… Think about these magical starclan kits that only exist there, they would be remembered by all the dead cats since they would be around them all the time and new cats dying and joining starclan would be there to remember them. Since no one ages in starclan, these kits would just stay kits forever. Never fading, never dying, could medicine cats see them? Could other living cats know about them? I think the idea of ancient kits that only ever existed in starclan and will continue to exist in starclan forever is very interesting. They would eventually become super wise and know so many things that seem impossible for ANY starclan cat to know and the medicine cats that first see them are so surprised and shocked to see a kit know so much. Their clanmates wouldnt believe them if they told them about the kits that only existed in starclan.
Sorry for such a long response but the more i thought about the idea while writing this, the more interested i became, i would be interested in hearing your response @warriorstrivia
I forgot about the fact Kate thinks that pregnant cats in StarClan (as in pregnant when they die D: ) give birth to their kits in StarClan although they stay kits when I published the original post 😦
I think it would be a bit sad if they went to the Clans when they were born because then their birth parent wouldn’t really get to raise them although if they did got to a Clan maybe they would magically (?) appear in their birth parent’s Clan camp and would probably start crying right away and someone would hear them and investigate (since most Clans post cats to keep watch at night) like I picture a StarClan subtly dropping them off kind of like a stork delivering a baby (idk lmao) or to use a weirder analogy, Dumbledore dropping off Harry Potter at the Dursleys’ house (IDK LMAO)
The whole reincarnation thing with Cinderpelt and Cinderheart was purposely left blurry so readers could “fill in the gaps” although it seemed more like Cinderpelt was possessing Cinderheart at times or that they had a kind of dual-mind (Idk the word or phrase? like they were both co-pilots in Cinderheart’s mind? I’m bad with words…) and after how complicated that was in The Forgotten Warrior, I’m not sure StarClan would do that again after seeing how much Cinderheart/pelt was torn between her duties and place in ThunderClan.
I’m not sure about how them fading away would work to be honest and I’m at a bit of a loss with that…I agree the Erin’s wouldn’t use that as a plot since it’s a bit complicated. As for if a couple in StarClan wanted kits, maybe they would take on the responsibility of looking after young kits that die and come to StarClan kind of like how Snowfur looked after Mosskit.
Not sure how aging would work? Maybe it depends on the kit…Mosskit stayed as a kit because she was happy to remain as Mosskit but in Code of the Clans, Smallstar and his siblings…did that, although I think it was mentioned that Smallstar and his siblings were a special case and Vicky said most kits do not go through that change when they die, but I mean if they were born in StarClan they technically never died? (Ack, run-on sentence for miles!) I’d like to think it depends on the kit. I mean if they decided to age and go through warrior training, they’d have a lot of amazing candidates for mentors and could probably learn techniques from all the Clans!
The idea of an “all-knowing” kit is gold omg I just picture Fidgetflake meeting his ancestors like “Hi, I’m Fidgetflake! :)” and this tiny gray kit comes forward like “you will die during the fourth leaf-bare of your life” and Fidgetflake is like D:

I mean to go back to the beginning of this post, Bright Stream (I can’t remember her name, the ancient) had her kits in StarClan because she was pregnant when she got carried off by that eagle, and never got the chance to give birth. And her kits of remembered by Clear Sky and Gray Wing who knew she was pregnant when she died.
