Cishets use it as a noun as a slur

Queer people use it as an adjective for the identity… and sometimes reclaim it as a noun self-referentially in certain contexts.

So like… both sides are right. In a sense.

But if people wanna reclaim it and you’re telling them they’re wrong for doing so, kindly fuck off.

In my experience, the word ‘queer’ is kind of like the word ‘female.’

If someone’s using it as an adjective, they’re probably fine.

If someone’s using it as a noun, you might want to be on your guard.

If someone’s using it as a plural noun? Fucking run.
