cons: nintendo, being nintendo, would likely send a cease and desist to anyone who developed such a thing

pros: nintendo would have to acknowledge not only that Hotel Mario ever existed, but someone cared enough to make a sequel and basically they’re sitting on an opportunity for cold hard cash and are fucking idiots

if someone ever makes a hotel mario sequel they need to add a toggle to make the audio incredibly loud and horribly distorted like the quebec gamers video rips, if not the only option available

this actually makes me wonder, obviously this would never work for hotel mario cause blatantly every character in hotel mario is a nintendo trademark, but, if you were to say make a sequel to link: the faces of evil and just conveniently left out link and zelda (the only nintendo characters in the game) you could actually get away with it. characters like king harkinian, gwonam, morshu and the country of koridai are not nintendo property so you could actually do this
