oh my GOD I cannot describe how angry I was when I found out that this is why Leafpool named him that. Idk if Jayfeather canonically knows, but if I were him i’d be LIVID. I have mixed feelings about naming a cat after someone else instead of letting them stand on their own as it is, but in this case it’s like ten times worse because it wasn’t even a loved one. It was someone Jayfeather had no meaningful connection to, who was never there for him or his siblings, and who would never have or even WANT a relationship with him!! I literally cannot believe Leafpool did that to him??? I’d demand a name change tbh
