it’s wild to me that the bubonic plague still exists and people get it every year like I’m going into wildlife disease biology but every single time we talk about the plague i’m still like oh right. the plague.

imagine getting the plague and living through it and going back to school that fall and ur prof is like “what did everyone do this summer” and u just tell em you had the plague.

it’s less cool though when they ask how you got it and it was bc u hand fed a squirrel

Actually! Bubonic plague isn’t super common and it’s more likely that you got pneumonic plague from breathing in rat poop!!!

I work in wildlife, I know my plagues, and was definitely talking about bubonic
